Snow, Dragons, and Mulled Cider Candles

13 02 2014

We had a rare day together today where both my husband and I had a snow day off from work! Even our son’s daycare was closed!

E was too excited about going “ou-side?” in the “no” to eat much of his breakfast!

We had 17″ pretty early this morning, and it continued to snow all day!

E liked the snow much better when we switched his gloves to mittens. It’s the little things! Hot chocolate didn’t hurt, either.

My sweet boy spent a chunk of the day perched precariously on his favorite bar stool, happily coloring dragons and talking on the phone while Daddy made all sorts of delicious HOT foods! (And I sat beside him on the other stool. Just in case.)

E got to go back out one more time to help his daddy shovel another layer of snow, and he loved it! Then we called Grandma and ate an early dinner washed down with fresh, homemade cinnamon buns with made-from-scratch icing! We let him stay up a little later with us while we watched some Olympic coverage, and he was out pretty soon after I sang him to sleep. Oh my soul.

Looking forward to another snow day tomorrow! Next up – my Five on Friday! Happy Valentines Day!

Your comments reveal such a precious day that you may not mind the make-up day so much. At least you can save this post and reread it the evening of the makeup, and I think you will have to smile. Love from Mom
